I opened my first salon at 25 years old in 1993. I had always enjoyed hair design and the creative and artistic aspect of the hair industry. I closed my salon after five years to focus on my children and my family. With my son at almost 2 years old and my daughter due in January 2020, it was a great decision! Having been able to enjoy many years raising my children while also being able to work part-time as a stylist was a dream. 

When the opportunity came to open a salon again, I was excited to once more doing what I loved most. Owning and operating a salon. In 2015 Salon Deirfiúr opened!

12 years later we are still servicing the many clients, friends and family of our area.

I now refer to  myself as a “coach of HAIR“ enjoying every opportunity to work with many people of all ages and all kinds of haircare needs. I’ve met many people from the early years of my 20s and 30s through to the years of my 40s and now 50s. Being available In the transition of people  in life. 

Life happens and people change. I’ve had the good fortune of sharing many of these experiences with so many different people along the way. In good times and in challenging times.

I’ve also been fortunate to help many young people to achieve their own goals and dreams in the hairstyling industry. Another one of my joys. Watching a young aspiring Stylist grow.

One of the most important young people being my daughter, Nicole. Lovingly referred to as Colie. She has become one of the top Stylist in the area. Her skills and knowledge of color theory, and fluency in hair extensions is by far one of my biggest Joys as a mother and salon owner. She never ceases to amaze me with her abilities. I actually learn from her…

I’ve worked with and have learned much from many women. And I am grateful to them all. Darlene McLaughlin continues to work with me after over 20 years. Exceptional in her abilities as a very talented Stylist.

Anne, our nail technician has been in the industry for over 20 years. Also talented and fluent in her abilities as a nail technician. We are so happy to share space with her. A very special lady.

Our newest up and coming, stylist,  Baylie. At her very young age, quite passionate in what she does. She is a beautiful and inspiring addition to our Salon.

“Deirfiúr”, an Irish (Gaelic) word  meaning sister, came to be not only in the obvious definition of the word, but also in my belief of another sisterhood of sorts. I have always desired to have a sister. Though I have no sisters of my own, there are many people I care about and refer to as being a sister in life with them.
